Anse Cocos

Anse Cocos is a small beautiful beach that is located in the east of La Digue along the coast from the Petite Anse. It is comprised of stunning, gorgeous golden sand, shallow natural pool water, and an ample shade to protect from the sun.

The atmosphere is generally calm here, but the waves can be large during the trade winds, that they can shift the sand a little. Swimming is advised to those who are confident swimmers, others rather relax on the beach and paddling into the water. There are natural pools of water, where everyone can swim without any problem.

Getting to the Anse Cocos beach is simple from Grand Anse because there is a straight path to Anse Cocos over Petite Anse, while the other path starts to the north at Anse Fourmis. People who love to enjoy walking, this little bay makes an ideal day trip, also includes a bit of a hike to get there.

It is actually one of the very first settlements on La Digue, that also includes the abandoned buildings, as well as the remains of the kiln, which are used to dry coconuts. The beautiful natural scenery makes the beach a perfect location for photographers.

Though, serving less facilities , this beautiful small beach has unique features to make it worth visiting. The natural shade, beautiful golden sand along with crystal clear water and the natural pool, ensures spending a whole day here paddling in the sea and enjoying the surroundings.
