Praslin Island, situated about 37 km northeast of Mahé, the main island of Seychelles, stands tall with its lush green hills visible even from afar for those arriving by boat. This island, the second-largest in the Seychelles, was stumbled upon by Lazare Picault in 1744, who initially named it “Ile des Palmes” after encountering the rare Coco de Mer Palm.
